What is the tourist tax?
The tourist tax of 275CVE per day, applicable to adults over the age of 16, is a local tax, applied at the expense of those who stay (or stay overnight) in a tourist accommodation located in each of the islands of the Cape Verde archipelago where this tax was established.
This type of tax is not paid by those who manage the accommodation but by the people who stay there, and the entire amount collected by the local government, as per the regulations, is entirely invested in tourism.
